cloud-initramfs-growroot software package provides automatically resize the root partition on first boot, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cloud-initramfs-growroot
cloud-initramfs-growroot is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cloud-initramfs-growroot package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cloud-initramfs-growroot *
You will get with cloud-initramfs-growroot package name, version, architecture and description in a table
